La Chaire Sens et Travail de l'Icam

The ambition of the Chair is to support people in their individual and collective reflections on work and the meaning it takes. The work has indeed...  something very objective – what to produce, a good or a service – but also a very subjective dimension – what that requires as implication, as effort. For some, the individual too often finds himself alone to cope with his work, aware that he must “work”, “toil”, “sweat” to get by. And for others, the person and the team are mobilized to “get to work”. The different conceptions of each person’s work depend in particular on the history of the people, the sector of activity, the type of organization and management practices. The work of the Chair is rooted in the idea that work is an experience. THE CHAIR IS SPECIALIZING IN THEMES OF THE SENSE OF WORK, MANAGEMENT PRACTICES AND TEAM COHESION.
