Understanding cryptocurrencies

Cryptocurrencies are proliferating: from bitcoin to monero, from ripple to ether, there are now several thousand of them. They all seem to have the same characteristics as a conventional currency, namely, to enable purchase of goods and services.
To comprehend the issues related to cryptocurrency in all their complexity first requires an understanding of how the blockchain that made them possible works. It is then necessary to know about the legal framework which is having difficulty keeping pace with the evolution of how cryptocurrencies are being used. On a financial level, is bitcoin only an object of unbridled speculation? Where can they be acquired? What are the possible uses of blockchain, and what contribution can it make to the corporate world?
These are some of the many questions that we will together be asking ourselves in this course, designed in partnership with experts from the well-known French economic magazine “Challenges”.
