Workplace diversity

Diverse organisations outperform those that are not. Working well with diversity doesn’t mean treating everyone the same, but if people are different from us we don’t always know how they want to be treated. This can take us out of our comfort zone and prevent us from managing effectively or working collaboratively. Here’s a good way to start: instead of doing unto others as you would want done to you, try to do unto others as they would want done to them!

You will be able to :

  • Avoid making assumptions and ask questions and listen instead
  • Cater to everyone’s individual needs and adapt to suit your colleagues
  • Create safe spaces where you can openly discuss people’s different needs
  • Encourage diversity in the workplace, notably neurodiversity

You will be able to :

  • Creating inclusive environments to encourage gender diversity
  • Avoid fitting people into genders you are most familiar with
  • Respect the way non-binary and trans people choose to identify
  • Chapters:

    • Think beyond the binary
    • Trans awareness
